What is the essential ingredient?
I am a strong believer that great people build great businesses. We all have that special something inside of us, but how do we achieve at a top level consistently every day of our lives? When everything is working perfectly it is easy, our passion flows through everything we touch. However we all have our peaks and our troughs both in life and in business. One may have a negative affect on the other.
How do we refocus and rekindle the passion to get the most out of our lives?
I have a huge amount of energy and I am lucky enough to be married to my business partner who is a tremendous asset. Together we inspire each other and push each others boundaries. But do we push hard enough? Can we do more? The answer is of course we can. I employ Susie Mitchell for 1 day every week at UKFast. Her role is to ensure that we maximise our time and work to strict deadlines. This is achieved by careful planning and discipline.
Her external focus allows her to be objective and her experience is invaluable. The change in UKFast in such a short time is phenomenal. Our management structure is more organised, our internal communication is more coordinated and our staff moral is as high as it has ever been.
We will always have ups and downs like any business, however the rate we are able to bounce back is dramatically improved. So the answer to the question 'what is the essential ingredient?' is simple. It is you and the team that work with you. Susie is the enzyme or catalyst that enhances your every day.
